Čtyřicet jedna zemí, světové šampionky, paralympijské vítězky a české hvězdy. Takové obsazení nabídl Světový pohár v para atletice žen v Olomouci. Prestižní para atletický mítink zavítal do České republiky vůbec poprvé. Vše slavnostně zahájila první dáma Eva Pavlová a domácí reprezentantky se před vzácnou návštěvou první soutěžní den vytáhly.
On July 3-4th 2025, the Czech Republic will host the very first World Para Athletics women-only Grand Prix, taking place in the city of Olomouc. This event is part of the prestigious World Para Athletics Grand Prix series - the paraathletic equivalent of the Diamond League. In 2025, there are only nine events of Grand Prix and these competitions were already held in cities such as Dubai, Paris and New Delhi, with Olomouc becoming the very first Czech host in history.
To a mnohem víc nám prozradila v exklusivním rozhovoru níže.
Ve dnech 3. - 4.

The First Lady of Czechia Opens Women’s Grand Prix in Olomouc
Forty-one countries, world champions, Paralympic winners, and Czech stars — that was the lineup at the Women’s Para Athletics World Cup in Olomouc. This prestigious para athletics meeting was held in the Czech Republic for the first time ever. The event was officially opened by First Lady Eva Pavlová, and Czech athletes delivered outstanding performances on the first day of competition.
“I support you with all my heart,” the First Lady told athletes from around the world. “Your performances, strength, and determination are extraordinary. You show the world that limits do not exist,” she said. Alongside the Mayor of Olomouc Miroslav Žbánek and Olomouc Region Governor Ladislav Okleštěk, the athletes were welcomed by World Para Athletics President Paul Fitzgerald and Czech Paralympic Committee Chairman Zbyněk Sýkora.
Among the Czech athletes, Miroslava Obrová stood out the most, taking first place in the shot put (7.14 m) and second in the discus throw (19.20 m) — both in category F57. “I’m very happy. A first-place finish in the Grand Prix is definitely something to be proud of,” said the experienced athlete. Two other Czech Paralympians from last year’s Games in Paris also claimed silver medals. Eva Berná was thrilled with second place in the F37 shot put, thanks to a throw of 10.50 meters. “I’m satisfied. I hoped to throw a bit farther, but I believe it will come in the next competitions,” she said. Unlike most of her teammates, she had only one event in Olomouc, giving her time to cheer for others. “I’m really looking forward to that,” she admitted. She had the chance to witness Anna Luxová (F35) earn another silver in shot put, throwing 9.16 meters, just three centimeters short of her personal best. The fourth Czech silver went to Beata Hrušková in the discus throw (F11/F12).
In total, the Czech team won nine medals on the first day — equaling the USA and surpassed only by Uzbekistan with ten. The four bronze medals went to Ada Boudníková (200 m T47), Pavlína Absolonová (800 m T20), Miroslava Pečenková (shot put F33), and Anna Marcaniková (shot put F32).
Among the international stars, Maroua Ibrahmi from Tunisia shined the most, winning two gold medals. In the club throw, where she holds the world record (29.36 m), she won with a throw of 26.09 m, and she also took gold in the shot put with 5.83 m. She was followed in the club throw by Cassie Mitchell from the USA, who threw 19.78 m to take second place. Cassie also holds world records in six events in her classification. Another Tunisian world record holder, Raoua Tlili, dominated the discus throw with a performance of 34.59 m. One of the biggest stars of the event, Italian Ambra Sabatini, unfortunately could not fully complete the 100 m run due to a minor injury, but her time of 17.77 seconds was still enough for a gold medal.
A highlights reel from the first day will be broadcast by ČT Sport tomorrow (Friday, July 4) at 9:35 AM. You can also watch the recording of day one and a live stream of day two on the Atletika Olomouc YouTube channel.
